Remote Notarization – What is it?
Remote notarizations allow an electronic notary to use the internet to notarize a document. Virginia law allows for remote online notarization.
Though there are certain requirements, and it is a different experience than a traditional face-to-face closing, this is a great example of tools we can be utilizing, as an industry, to help do our part to flatten the curve.
If you are an agent, talk to your broker about whether or not they know of your settlement companies or closing attorneys utilize it.
If you are a broker, ask your settlement company or closing attorney.
