Virginia REALTORS® Professional Standards Administrator and Paralegal

Virginia REALTORS® (“VAR”) is seeking a non-attorney to work in the legal department. Though beneficial, a paralegal or legal assistant certificate or experience is not required.  

The position includes serving in an administrative capacity for case management and administration of enforcement procedures of the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics with the possibility of greater responsibility with experience. This position will eventually be responsible for serving as VAR’s Professional Standards Administrator.  

This individual will provide administrative assistance in virtually all aspects of VAR’s legal services to its REALTOR® members, including providing support for the association’s in-house lawyers. 

Experience with real estate, consumer and commercial law, a REALTOR® association, a law firm, and/or title company is preferred.   However, any combination of training, education and experience, and a willingness to learn that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position is most important.

  • Strong prioritization skills;
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Effective process management skills;
  • The ability to build collegial and effective relationships with members and staff of VAR; and,

The position is based in VAR’s Glen Allen office with the potential for telework.
