4 Trends for Which We’re Thankful

Tired of talking about shiplap and being shabby chic? Us too. Thankfully, those trends are on the way out! When working with your clients, show that you’re on the cutting edge of design by sharing with them these hot style tips:
- In the Navy!
Sherwin-Williams named “Naval” as their color of the year. This neutral pairs well with nearly any color and adds a bit of coziness and dimension to any space. BONUS! This looks excellent with pink and blush colors, which happen to be coming up in popularity as well.
- Adios, Fabric Shades!
Sleek, modern lighting is in. Mixed-metal shades, wire cages, and glass globes are the name of the game in lighting these days. Pendants and sconces are starting to make a resurgence after years of chandeliers.
- Things are Looking Up! (Literally)
Many homeowners want a home with “charm” or “character”, and that isn’t always easy to find. Help them to see that they can build in their own charm or character with a statement ceiling. We suggest some of the peel & stick wallpaper or imitation tin tiles as cost-effective options. If you’re client is doing a little more heavy lifting on a remodel, coffered ceilings pack serious design punch.
- (Matte) Black is the New Unlacquered Brass!
Now that the modern farmhouse look is OUT and a more industrial look is in, help your clients navigate this new style. One way is with their hardware. Gold, brass, and unlacquered brass finishes aren’t going to attract buyers the way they used to. Classics like chrome are fine for a bathroom, but help them modernize a space with matte black. This style choice fits in perfectly with this new industrial craze.
