New Year, new laws: These Virginia real estate laws took effect this week

Teams Laws aren’t the only changes that took effect on January 1, 2019. In addition to teams, a few more provisions from the 2018 General Assembly took effect on January 1, 2019.
- Brokers must take 2 of the existing 8 Broker CE hours learning about the broker supervision requirements in the Code of Virginia and the Real Estate Board Regulations
- New licensees must take 1 of the existing 30 post-licensing CE hours learning about real estate-related finance
- New licensees have until one year from the last day of the month in which they were licensed to finish the post-license education
- All brokerage agreements must contain the name and contact information for the supervising broker
