TAKE ACTION: Tell Congress to Extend the National Flood Insurance Program
July 9, 2018
Flood insurance impacts people living in every area of Virginia.
The National Association of REALTORS® has issued a Call For Action: ACT NOW to urge Congress to extend the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and pass meaningful reforms to ensure the long-term viability of the program.
Currently, NFIP will expire on July 31, 2018, denying necessary insurance coverage to homeowners and buyers in more than 20,000 communities nationwide. Nationally, 1,400 transactions per day and more than 42,000 transactions per month could be at stake if NFIP lapses.
