This is the final weekend before the November 3rd election, and more than 3 million Virginians have either already voted early or requested mail-in absentee ballots.

We have a few helpful reminders for those who haven’t voted yet.

Saturday, October 31st is the deadline to vote early by in-person absentee voting. Check with your local voter registrar for times and polling locations.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd and polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. If you are waiting in line to vote at 7:00 p.m., then you will be allowed to cast a vote.

Virginia has experienced long voter lines in many localities in 2020 because of higher turnout. Be sure to make a plan and be prepared to wait in line for your opportunity to vote.

In-person voters, both early and on election day, must bring an approved form of identification. If you don’t bring a proper ID with you, you can request to fill out a provisional ballot and will be given instructions on how to make sure your vote is counted.

Those planning to vote in person are asked to wear masks. The number of voters allowed inside of a polling location at one time may be limited to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

You can find all this information and more on the Virginia Department of Elections website.
