Fair Housing Month & Realtist Week: Commemorate and Learn this April
March 29, 2023
Every April, REALTORS® commemorate the passing of the 1968 Fair Housing Act and reflect on housing discrimination throughout history and present day. (Have you checked out NAR’s latest collection of Fair Housing Month tools and resources?) As leaders in their communities, REALTORS® play an essential role in ensuring that there is inclusive change with true opportunities to expand homeownership for all.
In addition to Fair Housing month, Realtist Week is also celebrated in April, from Sunday, April 9th, to Saturday, April 15th, 2023. Chapters of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB)—the oldest minority professional trade association in the nation—will host events throughout their various communities, focused on the organization’s vision of “Democracy in Housing”! These events bring awareness to the Realtist community and mirror the organization’s strategic priorities:
- Faith-Based and Civic Engagement
- Women’s Initiatives – Women Investing in Real Estate (WIRE)
- Diversity and Inclusion/Small Business
- Multi-Generational Wealth Building
- Government Relations/Advocacy
See below for a list of Realtist Week events happening in the state!
