BrokerPlus 2022 Recap
March 7, 2022
BrokerPlus 2022 brought together over 150 of the best and brightest brokers and leaders from across the commonwealth. Coffee and fresh industry information were both flowing, creating an energy and buzz that many of us have been waiting (not so!) patiently for for nearly two years. The positivity and sense of camaraderie felt amongst this great group of REALTORS® brought the networking to life that many have been looking for in recent years, and the valuable content made this a day feel even better than in years past.
The content got started by a fantastic introduction to the new Director of DPOR, Demetrios “Mitch” Melis. Mitch was able to share a unique insight into things to come that impact the real estate industry. Virginia REALTORS® CEO Terrie Suit, General Counsel Laura Farley, and SVP of Government Relations Martin Johnson took the stage next to share vital updates about the ever-changing industry. The ever-popular Sean Carpenter gave brokers tools and tips that they can share at their own offices about the importance of leaving your mark and building relationships. Providing a wealth of takeaways, Virginia REALTORS® Chief Economist Lisa Sturtevant, PhD and Deputy Chief Economist Ryan Price gave listeners timely information about today’s market and ideas of what to expect for the upcoming months. Rounding out our morning session, Debbie Baxter Virginia REALTORS® Board Member and Virginia REALTORS® Senior Vice President of Member Programs Adam Smith, PMP shared exciting news about a new program designed specifically for brokers: Broker Premier.
The action-packed afternoon session began with an informational panel featuring past and current VREB board members. The CEO of Bright MLS, Brian Donnellan, sat down for a beneficial Q&A session with Virginia REALTORS® 2022 President Denise Ramey. Lastly, General Counsel Laura Farley once again took the stage for her crowd-pleasing session.
So far, feedback has been overwhelmingly positive about BrokerPlus. We hope to see this great group of attendees at our upcoming Annual Convention in September.
