2020 Convention Postponed Until 2021
June 11, 2020
Message from Virginia REALTORS® 2020 President, Kemper Funkhouser
This Centennial year for Virginia REALTORS® has certainly been historic as we continue to adjust to the new business environment brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, last week, our Board of Directors held its first virtual meeting and elected our 2021 officers. Our staff and volunteer members continue to conduct the business of our association.
One of the annual highlights for Virginia REALTORS® is our annual convention, and this year presented an opportunity to celebrate our 100-year history. During the past month, our leadership team has discussed the possible challenges in holding a convention during this unpredictable time. We continued this discussion with our Board of Directors last week, and there was a consensus to move our governance meetings online and to postpone Centennial 2020, our centennial celebration, until next year when we can all gather together.
While we all wish we could come together this year, our Board agreed this decision was in the best interest of our members.
