Virginia REALTORS® Celebrate the Season Through the Salvation Army Angel Tree
December 18, 2019
The season of giving is upon us, and the staff of Virginia REALTORS® is thrilled to be doing some giving of our own! For the sixth consecutive year, our staff celebrated the holiday season by taking part in the Salvation Army Angel Tree. Our office adopted twenty angels, each representing a specific child in need from our own community.
Each angel ornament represents a child (up to 14 years old) in Central Virginia, who, without community support, might not receive any Christmas gifts. The program provides holiday gifts to approximately 3,000 local families and 5,000 children. The children and their parents make a list of what they need the most, along with some fun items for the children to enjoy.
This year, a wide array of gifts could be found under our tree: bikes, scooters, pajamas, cozy bedding, books, clothing, tablets, and an adorable assortment of stuffed animals… all to make the Christmas wishes of our angels come true.
Virginia REALTORS® Conference Specialist Glenda Puryear says, “The Angel Tree is my favorite holiday tradition! Every year I select a child, and my mother and I both shop for them together. It’s wonderful knowing how meaningful each item you purchase will be for a child who needs it.”
