History Comes Alive
The dynamic, lovely, and entertaining city of Williamsburg is the backdrop for Momentum 2019. Williamsburg was named as one of The New York Times 52 places to go in 2019. Even out your work/life balance by adding sightseeing to your Momentum 2019 itinerary. Here are a few things you can start scheduling today:
Immerse yourself into the 18th century. Only a brief walk from the Williamsburg Lodge is Colonial Williamsburg. You can wander the cobblestone streets of Colonial Williamsburg and tour historic buildings, see reenactments, and even dip your own candle just to name a few activities in this unique area.
TENACITY: Women in Jamestown and Early Virginia
Celebrate the Women of Virginia’s history. Drive just up the road to the Jamestown Settlement to see the year-long exhibit “TENACITY: Women in Jamestown and Early Virginia”.
Experience the grandeur. Tour the Governor’s Palace in Colonial Williamsburg to see how seven royal governors and the first two elected governors of Virginia lived. The opulent décor is something not to be missed!
Colonial Williamsburg Arboretum
Soak in nature’s splendor. History is alive and well in this part of the Commonwealth in the form of breath-taking natural beauty. The Colonial Williamsburg Arboretum is made up of 18th-century tree and woody shrub varieties.
Tour like a Queen. Over the years Williamsburg has played host to many of the royal family, including Queen Elizabeth II. You can follow an itinerary that retraces their experience.
