One duty of supervising brokers is to ensure that all licensees affiliated with the firm have active, current licenses when practicing real estate. 

The deadline to renew any licenses that would have expired during the COVID-19 pandemic state of emergency was last week on July 31, 2021. 

DPOR has acknowledged that there is going to be a significant backlog, and it may take them time to work through all the renewal applications submitted in late July. This means that license lookup may not be completely accurate today. 

You should check with any agents who were due to have their license renewed between March 2020 and July 2021 to see if they submitted all necessary paperwork and fees by the deadline. 

If an agent was supposed to renew their license between March 2020 and June 2020 and missed the July 31 deadline for renewal, they will have to apply for a license as a new applicant. This means taking the exam, undergoing a background check, etc.
