Announcing the 2021 Virginia REALTOR® of the Year
October 29, 2021
Join us in celebrating the 2021 Virginia REALTOR® of the Year! The REALTOR® of the Year award is the association’s highest honor, bestowed to professionals who have made proven contributions to the real estate industry through both professional achievement and outstanding volunteerism. This year’s awardee was selected by a committee of peers as a standout among an association of nearly 37,000 members.
The 2021 Virginia REALTOR® of the Year is Kemper Funkhouser of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Association of REALTORS®.
Kemper was surprised with the news this week, during the Virginia REALTORS® Leadership Retreat. Check out the 2021 REALTOR® of the Year video, featuring special messages to (and fun facts about!) this deserving leader.
Kemper has a long history of service in the real estate industry. Currently, he is the Chief Operating Officer and Supervising Broker of the Funkhouser Real Estate Group. He served as the 2020 President of Virginia REALTORS®, helping to lead the association through the challenges and uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic. He has served as both Chair and Vice Chair for the Professional Standards Committee of the National Association of REALTORS®. In 2009, Kemper was recognized by the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Association of REALTORS® as their REALTOR® of the Year, having also served as the association’s President.
In 2021, Kemper was appointed to the Virginia Real Estate Board by Governor Ralph Northam. In addition to his career in real estate, he devotes much of his time to serving the field of education. He is a certified instructor of REALTOR® Ethics and teaches courses in real estate as an adjunct professor at James Madison University.
We hope you will join us in congratulating Kemper Funkhouser, the 2021 Virginia REALTOR® of the Year!
