RPAC: Purpose, Impact, Balance
October 5, 2026

If you’ve ever wondered what RPAC actually does, you’re not alone.
RPAC, the REALTORS® Political Action Committee, has helped REALTORS® participate in the political process since 1969. It is a tool created and supported by REALTORS®, working across NAR, Virginia REALTORS®, and local associations to support candidates who understand and support the issues that matter to our industry, our clients, and property owners.
RPAC contributions are voluntary. They are not member dues. REALTORS® choose whether to invest and how much to invest. RPAC is bipartisan and does not buy votes or tell REALTORS® how to vote. Instead, it gives our industry a way to collectively support REALTOR® Champions who understand the real-world impact of decisions affecting real estate.
And those decisions happen every day. Zoning and land use. Property taxes. Housing supply. Licensing requirements. Landlord-tenant laws. Property rights. Most of these decisions are made at the local and state levels, long before they ever make headlines.
That’s where RPAC plays an important role.
RPAC helps build relationships with elected officials and support candidates who understand real estate, complementing the year-round advocacy work of Virginia REALTORS® and local associations. One REALTOR® speaking with a legislator can make a difference. Thousands of REALTORS® coming together create a much stronger voice.
RPAC is about showing up, standing together, and making sure REALTORS® have a voice when decisions affecting our industry and our communities are being made.
