May 23, 2019
By: Guest Author, Virginia REALTORS® Chief Economist, Lisa Sturtevant, PhD
The National Association of Realtors® has released a new data tool that links up data about home sales transactions with demographic data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Data are available for several regions in Virginia, including the Blacksburg, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Bristol (inc. TN), Washington DC (inc. DC and MD), Richmond, and Virginia Beach metropolitan areas.
Interested in finding out how old the typical home buyer is in the region? Or what their typical income is? This tool has that data, along with lots of other information such as marital status, level of education, type of home purchased, and age of home purchased.
Check out the tool by clicking here.
