REALTORS® Across Virginia United to Give Back
July 30, 2026

Virginia REALTORS® proudly launched its first-ever statewide campaign for REALTORS® Are Good Neighbors Week—supporting local associations and staff from across the Commonwealth for a shared mission: giving back to the communities we serve.
From May 30th to June 6th, 2026, REALTORS® demonstrated that their commitment extends well beyond helping families buy and sell homes. From fighting food insecurity and protecting our natural resources to supporting local nonprofits and strengthening neighborhoods, volunteers made a meaningful difference through acts of service large and small.
Five local associations embraced the campaign, each tailoring volunteer efforts to meet the unique needs of their communities:
- The Eastern Shore Association of REALTORS® (ESAR) organized a full week of service activities, including beach cleanups, grocery packing, and other community volunteer projects that engaged members throughout the week.
- The Northern Neck Association of REALTORS® (NNAR) hosted a food drive, demonstrating the power of REALTORS® working together to make a local impact.
- The Southwest Virginia Association of REALTORS® (SWVAR) packed over 10,000 meals to help mitigate food insecurity in 35 localities in the region.
- The Bristol Tennessee-Virginia Association of REALTORS® (BTVAR) gave back through volunteers literally cleaning up their communities with trash pickups in various parts of the City.
- The Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS® (CAAR) rallied members to roll up their sleeves and packed food boxes, prepared materials for a Backpack Program that supports local youth, and donating CAAR reusable grocery bags for pantry patrons.

Virginia REALTORS® staff also joined the effort by spending a day volunteering with Feed More, helping sort and pack food to support around 3,000 individuals facing food insecurity across Central Virginia. It was a meaningful reminder that service is at the heart of who we are—not only as REALTORS®, but as neighbors.
Thank you to the local associations, volunteers, and community partners who helped make this inaugural campaign a success. Your dedication embodies the REALTOR® spirit of service and reminds us that some of the most important work we do happens long after the closing table. While every project looked different, each reflected the same core belief: strong communities are built by people who are willing to invest their time, compassion, and leadership.
We look forward to growing REALTORS® Are Good Neighbors Week in the years ahead and continuing to showcase the many ways REALTORS® strengthen communities across Virginia—one act of service at a time.
