Governor Youngkin Re-Appoints VAR Past President to Virginia Real Estate Board

On July 3, 2025, Governor Glenn Youngkin appointed Virginia REALTORS® 2020 Past President Kemper Funkhouser to the Virginia Real Estate Board (VREB). This marks Kemper’s second consecutive appointment to the board.
In 2023, Kemper was elected Chair of the VREB. In this role, he has served alongside another VAR Past President, Kit Hale, the board’s Vice Chairman.
Kemper has a long history of service in the real estate industry. For the National Association of REALTORS®, Kemper has served as both Chair and Vice Chair of the Professional Standards Committee. In 2009, Kemper was recognized by his local association, the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Association of REALTORS®, as their REALTOR® of the Year, having also served as the association’s President. In 2021, Virginia REALTORS® named Kemper the state-level REALTOR® of the Year.
This gubernatorial appointment to the VREB is effective immediately and will last through June 30, 2029. Join us in congratulating Kemper on this prestigious role!
