2026 Leadership Academy Schedule
Session 1 – Orientation
January 28, 2026 – Virtual Event
This virtual orientation introduces the program, expectations, and schedule while guiding participants through the Learning Management System (LMS) and key leadership concepts.
Session 2 – Introduction to Virginia REALTORS®
March 4-5, 2026 – Richmond, VA (Virginia REALTORS® Headquarters in Glen Allen)
Members will gain insight into committees and volunteering at the state level through interactive role-play, case studies, and best practices. This session also includes a guided tour of the Virginia REALTORS® headquarters building, opportunities to meet the staff, and dedicated time with our state-level Leadership Team.
Session 3 – Communication and Leadership
April 8-9, 2026 – Charlottesville, VA
Students will enjoy an engaging, interactive session focused on communication skills and leadership styles, featuring a DISC assessment paired with complementary team-building activities to reinforce key concepts.
Session 4 – Public Speaking Training
May 6-7, 2026 – Williamsburg, VA
Public speaking is a key skill for any leader. Learn how you can improve your public speaking skills through interactive workshops and custom-created instruction designed for this ambitious group.
Session 5 – Introduction to the National Association of REALTORS®
July 22-23, 2026 – Fredericksburg, VA
This session offers advanced leadership development, self-care strategies, and engaging team-building activities. Members will travel to Washington, D.C., for an exclusive opportunity to meet with NAR staff and gain firsthand insight into the key issues the National Association is addressing on their behalf.
Session 6 – Personal Development
August 5, 2026 – Virtual Event
During this final session, an insightful speaker will share content designed to inspire growth, confidence, and self-improvement. Participants gain practical takeaways to strengthen resilience, refine their leadership skills, and unlock their potential.
Session 7 – Graduation
September 15, 2026 – Williamsburg, Virginia
The VLA class will meet one more time for a debriefing meeting prior to their graduation. Their graduation ceremony will take place at the Virginia REALTORS® Annual Convention. They will be recognized as alumni in front of their peers and the association at large.
