Rick Lugg was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Virginia REALTORS® in January of 2025. Prior to his appointment, Rick served the association for 15 years as both Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, where he played a pivotal role in ensuring the organization’s fiscal health and operational excellence.
Before joining Virginia REALTORS®, Rick built a robust career that spanned multiple industries. He spent a decade in management roles with Circuit City, honing his expertise in strategic operations and customer service. Earlier in his career, Rick served in the U.S. Air Force as a programmer analyst, leveraging his technical skills to support mission-critical operations.

Rick holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Troy University and an MBA from the University of Richmond. His extensive background includes IT programming, Six Sigma process improvement, business intelligence, and strategic finance—a unique combination of skills that have consistently driven value for the association and its members. In recognition of his leadership and financial acumen, Rick was named Virginia Business Magazine’s CFO of the Year for Small Nonprofit Organizations in 2019.

Outside of the office, Rick enjoys quality time with his wife and takes pride in watching his two grown sons evolve into men. His commitment to professional excellence and personal integrity continues to shape his vision for Virginia REALTORS^®, ensuring the organization remains a trusted partner to its members and a leader in the industry.
