Virginia REALTORS^® is happy to announce that D.J. Spiker is joining our team as Vice President of Association Advocacy. Before joining the VAR, D.J. served as State Director for State & Local Government Relations in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina & South Carolina for the Institute of Legislative Action. Prior to that, he worked for the Virginia Senate Republican Caucus majority as their Policy Director, served as Senator Mark Obenshain’s Chief of Staff, and was appointed a Governor’s Fellow during Governor Bob McDonnell’s administration.

D.J. resides in Short Pump with his wife Shannon and their two children, Madison and Harrison. In his spare time, he serves on the Richmond leadership team for the U.S. Soccer supporter group American Outlaws, roots for the San Francisco 49ers as well as the JMU Dukes, and enjoys making beef wellington from scratch.
